Origins and Early Life
Stanley Bert Eisen was born on January 20, 1952 in Manhattan, New York. Born with microtia (a malformation of the right ear), he found an escape through music. He founded Kiss in 1973 with Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss.

With their makeup, costumes, and pyrotechnic shows, Kiss revolutionized the live rock experience. Albums such as Destroyer (1976), Love Gun (1977), and Dynasty (1979) produced hits like “Rock and Roll All Nite”, “Detroit Rock City”, and “I Was Made for Lovin’ You”.
Kiss has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide.
Paul Stanley is also an acclaimed painter, exhibiting and selling his artwork in galleries across the United States. He wrote the bestselling autobiography Face the Music: A Life Exposed (2014), in which he revealed for the first time his struggles related to his microtia and the partial hearing loss it caused.
Legacy
Kiss was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. As the band’s frontman and principal songwriter behind many of its hits, Paul Stanley is regarded as one of rock’s greatest showmen.
