Last April, we hosted a special exhibition dedicated to one of the most respected guitar heroes in the world: Slash. This exceptional event, organized in collaboration with Ash Hudson — artist, photographer, and Slash’s brother — brought together for the first time artworks taken from the family archives. It was a unique opportunity for music enthusiasts and die-hard fans of Slash’s universe to celebrate his immense legacy!
Before becoming one of the most respected guitarists, Slash was a dreamy teenager who loved drawing and playing music in his room. For the first time, drawings by young Saul Hudson were taken from the archives by his brother and shown to the public. Behind his fine pencil work, we discovered his passions for Aerosmith and Queen, as well as self-portraits already depicting him on stage with a guitar. Alongside these rare drawings crucial to understanding the Slash myth, guitars played by the legend on stage were also exhibited.
For the occasion, we also created two visuals in collaboration with Ash Hudson. Produced as offset posters and handcrafted screen prints, they were available in limited edition signed by Slash. True collector’s items filled with references to his career and uniquely characteristic universe! The two opening nights were a chance to share our passion for Slash and to talk with his brother, a true ambassador and creator of historic visuals for Slash (including the famous Snakepit).
Some pieces are still available on our Matt’s Rock Gallery website. An exceptional and historic exhibition!
