The luthier is the mirror of a guitar, just as a watchmaker is the mirror of a watch. They are an essential component in the care of an instrument. Welcome to the newly opened MGS Workshop!
Every guitar and bass needs regular maintenance, inspection, and servicing to ensure proper functioning and long-lasting performance. A guitar is meant to be played, and to remain playable for years. The magic of a Burst reaching us today is also thanks to the work of luthiers who keep them in top condition.
For several weeks now, Matt’s Guitar Shop has opened its luthier workshop, the MGS Workshop. A place open to all, offering services tailored to every need, with attention to detail for every instrument. The workshop is brought to life by Paul Mouilleron, a young graduate. Passionate about lutherie from an early age, Paul can evaluate, inspect, repair, modify—in short, take care of every guitar and bass.
While some may think a luthier’s work stops at building instruments, it is far broader. Beyond maintenance and servicing, he is your go-to expert to bring your ideas to life: pickup changes, tremolo installations, and more.
So don’t hesitate—if you have questions or requests, the workshop is open, and Paul will welcome you by appointment with a smile!

Paul posts educational videos about his work! You’ll learn about lutherie and the daily life of a workshop like Matt’s Guitar Shop. See you at the workshop!
