Biografie van Cliff Williams, legendarische bassist van AC\/DC<\/h2>\n

Cliff Williams<\/strong> is een Britse bassist<\/strong>, geboren op 14 december 1949 in Engeland. Wereldwijd bekend als de iconische bassist van AC\/DC<\/strong>, die hij in 1977 vervoegde en met wie hij geschiedenis schreef in de hardrock<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Een belangrijke carri\u00e8re in de rock<\/h3>\n

Bij AC\/DC<\/strong> droeg Cliff Williams<\/strong> bij aan legendarische albums zoals Highway to Hell<\/strong> en Back in Black<\/strong>, een van de best verkochte albums aller tijden. Zijn basstijl valt op door krachtige, nauwkeurige ritmes<\/strong>, perfect passend bij het geluid van de band.<\/p>\n

Speelstijl en instrumenten<\/h3>\n

Bekend om zijn eenvoudige en effectieve spel<\/strong>, geeft Cliff Williams<\/strong> de voorkeur aan stevige baslijnen die de groove ondersteunen. Hij is nauw verbonden met Music Man StingRay<\/strong>-bassen, vooral de vintage modellen uit de jaren 1970, die een referentie werden voor rock<\/strong>-bassist.<\/p>\n

Een hardrock-icoon<\/h3>\n

De collectie van Matt\u2019s Guitar Shop bevat ook enkele legendarische bassen. In dat opzicht is deze Music Man StingRay<\/b> een waar historisch stuk voor alle hardrockfans en, meer nog, voor liefhebbers van AC\/DC.<\/p>\n

Toen Cliff Williams<\/b> zich in 1977 bij AC\/DC aansloot, speelde hij op een Fender Precision, een instrument dat perfect aansloot bij zijn krachtige en effici\u00ebnte plectrumspel. Intussen had het Californische merk Music Man, opgericht door niemand minder dan Leo Fender zelf, de StingRay-bas gelanceerd: een model dat de eenvoud van de Precision Bass behoudt, maar daar een hogere output en extra scherpte aan toevoegt. Precies die eigenschappen sloten naadloos aan bij de evolutie van het geluid van muziekproducties in die periode.<\/p>\n

Cliff Williams<\/b> stapte definitief over op de StingRay in 1979, tijdens de tournee die volgde op het album Highway To Hell<\/i>. Een zwaar gehavende sunburst is trouwens te zien in de film Let There Be Rock<\/em>, opgenomen in Parijs in december 1979. Datzelfde instrument duikt opnieuw op in 2011 in Live At The River Plate<\/i>, en bleef zijn trouwe metgezel tot aan de Rock Or Bust World Tour<\/i>, die eindigde in 2016. In die 37 jaar van trouwe dienst heeft Cliff Williams slechts vijf StingRays bespeeld. Dit exemplaar draagt nummer 3. Weinig bassen kunnen dus zeggen dat ze zoveel stadions hebben laten trillen als deze ogenschijnlijk bescheiden Music Man!<\/b><\/p>\n
