George Washington Benson<\/strong> nasce il 22 marzo 1943<\/strong> a Pittsburgh<\/strong>, in Pennsylvania. Bambino prodigio, suona l\u2019ukulele<\/strong> gi\u00e0 a 7 anni<\/strong> cantando per strada per guadagnare denaro, e passa alla chitarra a 8 anni<\/strong>. A 17 anni<\/strong> registra gi\u00e0 i suoi primi dischi ed entra nella scena jazz<\/strong> di Pittsburgh. Il brano “This Masquerade”<\/strong> gli vale un Grammy Award<\/strong>, mentre lo strumentale “Breezin”<\/strong> diventa uno standard del jazz-pop.
