Il est facile d\u2019oublier \u00e0 quel point Oasis \u00e9tait un excellent groupe tant leur musique a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9clips\u00e9e par leurs frasques diverses dans la mani\u00e8re qu\u2019ont eu les m\u00e9dias de parler d\u2019eux. Pourtant, ces fils de Manchester ont \u00e9crit quelques unes des plus belles chansons des ann\u00e9es 90, construisant v\u00e9ritablement la bande originale d\u2019une d\u00e9cennie en mal d\u2019idoles.<\/p>\n
De Supersonic en 1994 \u00e0 Falling Down en 2009, Oasis a vendu 75 millions d\u2019albums et plac\u00e9 8 titres \u00e0 la t\u00eate des charts. Bien s\u00fbr, leur musique est profond\u00e9ment inspir\u00e9e par les Beatles de 1966 dont ils ont repris le style visuel et l\u2019approche de la production, mais ils ont pris ce son et l\u2019ont amen\u00e9 vers leur d\u00e9cennie, en la mettant \u00e0 jour via des chansons qui n\u2019auraient sans doute pas d\u00e9pareill\u00e9 sur Revolver comme Wonderwall ou All Around The World.<\/p>\n
Comme personne ne l\u2019ignore, le groupe est men\u00e9 par les fr\u00e8res Gallagher, Liam au chant et Noel \u00e0 la guitare, m\u00eame s\u2019il arrive que Noel chante avec son grain tr\u00e8s attachant, sur Don\u2019t Look Back In Anger par exemple. Comme les Kinks avant eux, les fr\u00e8re Gallagher n\u2019ont pas r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 contenir leurs querelles familiales hors de la sph\u00e8re professionnelle et le groupe a fini par exploser sous leur poids.<\/p>\n
Depuis, Noel a mont\u00e9 son groupe High Flying Birds avec un excellent premier album \u00e9ponyme en 2011, la preuve que le guitariste a encore des choses \u00e0 dire artistiquement parlant. Il tourne encore avec cette formation qui en est \u00e0 son troisi\u00e8me album avec Who Built The Moon (2017). Guitaristiquement, Noel n\u2019a pas chang\u00e9 et il reste fid\u00e8le aux instruments qu\u2019il aimait lorsqu\u2019il jouait dans Oasis : on l\u2019a beaucoup connu avec une Epiphone Sheraton (la version Epiphone de la ES-335), et il a beaucoup jou\u00e9 sur plusieurs semi-hollow dans ce style, dont une superbe ES-355 Cherry Red et des Epiphone Casino. Il est aussi fan de Les Paul, qu\u2019elles soient burst ou autres, et son acoustique de pr\u00e9dilection est bien s\u00fbr la J-200, un instrument qui lui reste associ\u00e9 \u00e0 ce jour.<\/p>\n

Despite appearances, this Martin is 100% original! In the late 1950s, seeing competing brands enjoy great success in the electric guitar market, the Nazareth-based company decided to explore the territory. However, as Martin\u2019s engineers were known for their conservative approach and their production methods were already fine-tuned for acoustics, they simply added two pickups to their three flagship models, thus creating the 00-18E, D-18E, and D-28E.<\/strong><\/p>\n Each model closely resembled its purely acoustic counterpart, with the not-so-subtle addition of two DeArmond pickups, a three-way selector switch, and four knobs lined up along the soundboard. The problem with this concept was that it didn\u2019t work particularly well from any angle: on the acoustic side, the pickups mounted directly on the top dampened its natural vibrations, while on the electric side, the dreadnought\u2019s naturally booming lows often led to instant feedback. Add to that a higher price tag compared to their acoustic equivalents, and it becomes easy to understand why Martin discontinued these series in 1963 \u2014 making this D-28E an example from the final year of production.<\/p>\n Of course, it features the beautiful Brazilian rosewood body found on all D-28s of the era. And while the tone of these hybrid models was initially met with skepticism, they eventually gained a following among lo-fi enthusiasts looking for something off the beaten path. The most iconic appearance of the series came in 1993, when Kurt Cobain played a D-18E during Nirvana\u2019s *MTV Unplugged* concert. This D-28E, however, is even more exceptional: it has remained fully original apart from a refret, unlike many examples from the era whose electronics have been modified.<\/p>\n But that\u2019s not all \u2014 this particular guitar was once owned by **Noel Gallagher**. The British legend used this Martin as a songwriting companion before letting it back out into the world, where its rich, rounded tones continued to inspire other musicians.<\/p>\n Got questions about this piece?
