Origins and Early Years<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

Saul Hudson<\/strong>, better known as Slash<\/strong>, was born on July 23, 1965<\/strong>, in Hampstead<\/strong>, London, to an English father and an African-American mother. He grew up in Los Angeles<\/strong> and started playing guitar at the age of 15<\/strong>, inspired by Aerosmith<\/strong>, Led Zeppelin<\/strong>, and the blues<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Guns N’ Roses<\/h2>\n

With Guns N’ Roses<\/strong>, he co-wrote some of the most famous riffs in rock history, including “Sweet Child O’ Mine”<\/strong>, “Welcome to the Jungle”<\/strong>, and “Paradise City”<\/strong>. Appetite for Destruction (1987)<\/strong> remains the best-selling debut album of all time<\/strong>.
\nHe left the band in 1996<\/strong> following tensions with Axl Rose<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Solo Career and Return<\/h2>\n

He founded Slash’s Snakepit<\/strong> before later collaborating with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators<\/strong>. In 2016<\/strong>, he rejoined Guns N’ Roses for the highly successful Not in This Lifetime Tour<\/strong>. He is consistently ranked among the greatest guitarists of all time<\/strong> by major music publications.
\nSlash is also passionate about snakes<\/strong> and reptiles<\/strong>, maintaining an impressive collection at his home in Los Angeles. His image\u2014top hat<\/strong>, black curly hair<\/strong>, cigarette<\/strong>, and Les Paul<\/strong>\u2014has become so iconic that it has been parodied and referenced in countless films, television shows, and video games, notably Guitar Hero<\/strong>. He is regularly ranked in the top five guitarists in history<\/strong> by specialized music magazines.<\/p>\n

Iconic Guitar<\/h2>\n

Slash is famously associated with the Gibson Les Paul Standard<\/strong>, particularly a replica of a 1959<\/strong> model released as a Gibson Signature<\/strong> guitar. His top hat<\/strong>, black curls<\/strong>, and Les Paul form one of the most recognizable images in rock music.<\/p>\n
