Anthony Joseph Perry<\/strong> was born on September 10, 1950<\/strong> in Lawrence<\/strong>, Massachusetts. Passionate about blues<\/strong> and rock<\/strong>, and influenced by Jeff Beck<\/strong>, Jimi Hendrix<\/strong>, and the Rolling Stones<\/strong>, he met Steven Tyler<\/strong> in 1970<\/strong> in Sunapee<\/strong>, New Hampshire. Joe Perry left the band in 1979<\/strong> to pursue a solo career, before returning in 1984<\/strong>. The comeback peaked with Permanent Vacation (1987)<\/strong> and Pump (1989)<\/strong>.
