This moment was a turning point that led him to ask for a guitar.
He formed the E Street Band and signed with Columbia Records thanks to producer John Hammond (the same who had signed Bob Dylan). His first album, Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J., was released in 1973, and critic Jon Landau famously wrote: “I saw rock and roll future and its name is Bruce Springsteen.”

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” text_font=”|300|||||||” text_font_size=”16px” header_font=”|700|||||||” header_text_align=”center” header_font_size=”36px” header_2_font=”–et_global_heading_font|300|||||||” header_2_text_color=”#ddab05″ header_2_font_size=”24px” text_orientation=”justified” background_layout=”dark” width=”100%” width_tablet=”” width_phone=”100%” width_last_edited=”on|phone” module_alignment=”center” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Breakthrough and success

Born to Run (1975) landed him simultaneously on the covers of Time and Newsweek, an unprecedented achievement.
