William Frederick Gibbons<\/strong> was born on December 16, 1949<\/strong>, in Houston<\/strong>, Texas. The son of a musician and art director at MGM Records<\/strong>, he received his first guitar at 13<\/strong> \u2014 a Gibson Melody Maker<\/strong> given to him by his father. He founded The Moving Sidewalks, a psychedelic rock band that opened for Jimi Hendrix<\/strong> in Texas in 1968<\/strong>.
