Angus McKinnon Young<\/strong> was born on March 31, 1955<\/strong>, in Glasgow<\/strong>, Scotland. His family emigrated to Sydney<\/strong>, Australia, in 1963<\/strong>. Influenced by his older brothers, notably George Young<\/strong> (a member of the Easybeats<\/strong>), he started playing guitar at a very young age and developed a sharp, high-energy style deeply rooted in the blues<\/strong> of Chuck Berry<\/strong> and Muddy Waters<\/strong>. \nIn 1973<\/strong>, he co-founded AC\/DC<\/strong> with his brother Malcolm Young<\/strong>. His schoolboy outfit, created by his sister Margaret, quickly became his trademark on stage. The band built a reputation as a formidable live act in the pubs of Sydney and Melbourne.<\/p>\nRise and Breakthrough<\/h2>\n
\nAfter the tragic death of Bon Scott<\/strong> on February 19, 1980<\/strong>, the band recruited Brian Johnson<\/strong>. The album Back in Black (1980)<\/strong> became one of the best-selling records in history<\/strong>, with over 50 million copies sold<\/strong>.
