Die Britpop-Explosion<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

His ’n‘ Hers (1994)<\/strong> und vor allem Different Class (1995)<\/strong> katapultierten Pulp an die Spitze der Britpop<\/strong>-Bewegung. Die Single „Common People“<\/strong> wurde zu einer Hymne der Arbeiterklasse<\/strong> und zu einem der ikonischsten Songs Gro\u00dfbritanniens der 1990er Jahre.
Das Album verkaufte sich mehr als 4 Millionen Mal<\/strong> und gewann 1996<\/strong> den Mercury Prize<\/strong>.
W\u00e4hrend der Brit Awards 1996<\/strong>, als Michael Jackson<\/strong> „Earth Song“<\/strong> in einer messianischen Inszenierung auff\u00fchrte, st\u00fcrmte Jarvis Cocker tanzend die B\u00fchne, um gegen das zu protestieren, was er als \u00fcbertriebenen Ego-Auftritt<\/strong> empfand. Der Vorfall machte Schlagzeilen in ganz Gro\u00dfbritannien und st\u00e4rkte seinen Ruf als popul\u00e4rer Antiheld<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
