Placebo<\/strong> wurde 1994<\/strong> in London<\/strong> von Brian Molko<\/strong> (Gesang, Gitarre) und Stefan Olsdal<\/strong> (Bass) gegr\u00fcndet. Molko, geboren am 10. Dezember 1972<\/strong> in Br\u00fcssel<\/strong>, brachte eine androgyne<\/strong> \u00c4sthetik sowie Texte mit, die sich mit Identit\u00e4t<\/strong>, Sexualit\u00e4t und Abh\u00e4ngigkeit<\/strong> besch\u00e4ftigen.<\/p>\n

Erfolg und wichtige Alben<\/h2>\n

Das selbstbetitelte Deb\u00fctalbum (1996)<\/strong> und die Single „Nancy Boy“<\/strong> etablierten die Band in der britischen Alternative-Rock<\/strong>-Szene. Without You I’m Nothing (1998)<\/strong> und Meds (2006)<\/strong> z\u00e4hlen zu ihren meistgelobten Alben.
David Bowie<\/strong>, ein Bewunderer der Band, lud Molko ein, 1999<\/strong> ein Duett auf „Without You I’m Nothing“<\/strong> zu singen.
Brian Molko ist offen bisexuell<\/strong>, und seine Texte behandeln ohne Tabus sexuelle Identit\u00e4t<\/strong>, Abh\u00e4ngigkeit<\/strong>, Depression<\/strong> und Entfremdung<\/strong>.
