Kirk Lee Hammett<\/strong> wird am 18. November 1962<\/strong> in San Francisco<\/strong> geboren. Als Gr\u00fcndungsmitglied der Thrash-Band Exodus<\/strong> tritt er im April 1983<\/strong> Metallica bei und ersetzt Dave Mustaine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bei Metallica<\/h2>\n

Er spielt auf allen Metallica-Alben seit Ride the Lightning (1984)<\/strong>. Master of Puppets (1986)<\/strong> gilt als eines der gr\u00f6\u00dften Metal-Alben<\/strong> aller Zeiten. Metallica<\/strong> (das \u201eBlack Album\u201c, 1991<\/strong>) verkaufte sich allein in den USA \u00fcber 16 Millionen Mal<\/strong> und wurde von „Enter Sandman“<\/strong> und „Nothing Else Matters“<\/strong> getragen.
Hammett war Sch\u00fcler von Joe Satriani<\/strong> und bringt einen melodischen Lead-Stil ein, der vom Blues<\/strong> und klassischem Heavy Metal<\/strong> beeinflusst ist.
Kirk Hammett ist au\u00dferdem ein leidenschaftlicher Sammler von Horrorfilmen<\/strong> und Horror-Memorabilia. Er ver\u00f6ffentlichte das Buch Too Much Horror Business (2012)<\/strong> und kuratierte die Wanderausstellung „It’s Alive“<\/strong>, die seine Sammlung zeigt.
