Urspr\u00fcnge und Anf\u00e4nge<\/h2>\n

Benjamin Chase Harper<\/strong> wird am 28. Oktober 1969<\/strong> in Claremont<\/strong>, Kalifornien, geboren. Er w\u00e4chst im Musikgesch\u00e4ft seiner Gro\u00dfeltern auf, dem Folk Music Center<\/strong>, einem legend\u00e4ren Ort, der 1958 gegr\u00fcndet wurde, wo er schon als Kind Instrumente aus aller Welt und reisende Musiker erlebt.
Er lernt die Weissenborn<\/strong>, eine hawaiianische Lap-Steel-Gitarre, die zu seinem Markenzeichen wird. Als Teenager spielt er in den Coffeehouses<\/strong> von Los Angeles und entwickelt einen einzigartigen Stil, der Slide-Gitarre<\/strong>, Fingerpicking<\/strong> und gef\u00fchlvollen Gesang verbindet.<\/p>\n

Karriere und wichtigste Alben<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

Sein erstes Album, Fight for Your Mind (1995)<\/strong>, machte ihn einem breiten Publikum bekannt und verband auf einzigartige Weise Blues<\/strong>, Reggae<\/strong> und engagierten Folk<\/strong>. Burn to Shine (1999)<\/strong> festigte seinen Status als bedeutender K\u00fcnstler, getragen von seinem Ruf als au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlicher Live-Performer.
Er arbeitet regelm\u00e4\u00dfig mit den Innocent Criminals<\/strong>, seiner festen Begleitband, zusammen.
